In my job I interact with a few vendors. There is this one sales guy who I just love because he is hilarious. Not just his jokes, he's hilariously inappropriate. I'm sure he has a line which he won't cross but it is a different line than most of us.
So yesterday we all went out for lunch (his treat of course). People were shocked I ordered fish at a steak house. What? I've been up every day at 5:45 to the gym to work out, I'm not about to undo that by eating a huge lunch. Besides, as a single girl I need to maintain a certain appearance, I said half jokingly. At this point everyone points out that Guy is single as well (the only other singleton there).
I asked Guy if he agrees with me that as single unattached people we put more effort into our appearances. Ah Guy. Always comes through for me with a brutally honest answer.
Yes Esme (Guy said in his French accent), you 'ave to look good. I just 'ave to look rich.
Are you shocked he said that? Ok, now get passed the shock and over what you think is the right thing and tell me there isn't just a little, tiny bit of truth in what he said. Looking rich, most likely means success, success means confidence (confidence in self or confidence in one's skills), and that is quite attractive.
Hes definetly right!
