My First cocktail

Lychee Martini.
I found this recipe on the food network. Except for instead of vodka I used gin. This because I don't like vodka. Also, I made the martini in a pitcher with ice and stirred. This because I bought a very cute glass martini shaker, which broke the first time I used it and it limits how much I could make.


Ingredients (makes 2 martinis)

* Ice cubes
* 6 ounces gin
* 4 ounces lychee juice
* Splash vermouth
* 2 lychees, for garnish

Directions

In a glass pitcher filled with ice, mix in all the ingredients and stir until chilled. Pour into martini glasses and garnish with lychees.

Opera

I went to the Opera for the first time tonight. I admit it was an experience. People really get dressed up for the occasion. The music was beautiful and the soprano was pretty amazing.

The opera was Lucia di Lammermoor. I have to admit that it's not my favorite story but overall I had a great time. Aida is coming in the spring time. I'd really like to see that.
